Expecting the ceasefire to hold… Trump: The war is “over” in Gaza

US President Donald Trump announced the end of the Gaza war, noting that “things will turn out well in Gaza.”

Before leaving for Israel and Egypt on a trip of great importance, Trump said: “We have a lot of verbal guarantees regarding Gaza, and the hostages may be released a little early.”

Trump added: “I believe that the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel will hold, and a peace council will be formed quickly for Gaza,” noting that Gaza “looks like a demolition site.”

Yesterday, the US President headed to Israel and Egypt on a trip that he described as “very special” as part of efforts to end the war in Gaza.

The presidential plane took off from Andrews Air Force Base near Washington in rainy weather.

Trump is accompanied on his trip by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, according to the White House.
