Palestinian Authority: An emergency plan to restore life to Gaza begins with medical and food relief

A member of the Palestinian Civil and National Action Authority, Ratiba Al-Natsheh, said that there is an emergency plan to restore life to Gaza, which begins with providing basic humanitarian needs, then moving to the stage of gradual recovery and reconstruction.

 

Al-Natsheh confirmed, in a telephone interview with the “This Morning” program. Broadcast on “Nile News” channel. Today, Tuesday, “The priority today is emergency relief, especially in the medical, food, and shelter fields, in preparation for the later transition to the gradual recovery and reconstruction phase.” She explained: “After two years of bloody war, more than 85% of homes and housing have been destroyed and collapsed.” Completely in the health sector, in addition to the almost complete loss of essential medicines, especially those that are life-saving and designated for chronic diseases,” stressing that there is an urgent need to introduce medical equipment and tools, food aid, and shelter supplies, in addition to the need to accelerate the introduction of rubble removal equipment to open roads and create conditions for the population to return to the country. Their homes.

 

Al-Natsheh pointed out the presence of a large number of missing persons whose fate has not yet been known, saying: “Yesterday 1,700 prisoners were released to the Gaza Strip, but there is an urgent humanitarian demand to know the fate of thousands of other missing persons, and whether they are still detained or under arrest.” The rubble".

 

She added that the data indicates that about 56,000 children lost one or both of their parents during the war, considering that these children represent the most marginalized and needy group at the present time, stressing that an effective response requires a comprehensive plan from the ministries of social development, education, and health, to work in an integrated manner to provide Psychological support, education services, and health care for these children, in preparation for the start of the recovery phase and return to life.
