The Sharjah International Festival for the Arabian Horse, Egyptian breed, begins the day after tomorrow

Sharjah, 14th October / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club is organizing the day after tomorrow, Thursday, the nineteenth edition of the “Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival” of the Egyptian breed in cooperation with the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone Authority – Safe Zone – the official sponsor of the festival and the Emirates Arabian Horse Association with the participation of 55 horses from four countries: the UAE, Egypt and Iraq. Qatar and various state stalls, clubs and stables.
The Sharjah Arabian Horse Festival, the Egyptian breed, is considered accredited by the European Authority for Purebred Arabian Horse Competitions (ECAHO), as all festivals at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club have been accredited by the Authority for this season.
His Excellency Saud Salem Al Mazrouei, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone Authority, said that the Sharjah Arabian Horse Festival – “Egyptian Breed” is one of the most prominent specialized events in the world that celebrates the heritage of the Arabian horse. It also comes as a translation of the Emirate of Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to encourage interest in equestrian sports, work to develop it, preserve the Arab heritage, and enhance the presence of equestrianism as a cultural and historical component that has a deep connection to the legacy of fathers and grandfathers, where it succeeded. The festival, throughout its previous sessions, has contributed to highlighting the authenticity of the Arabian horse and enhancing the UAE’s position as a global equestrian destination.
He stressed the keenness of the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority to provide all forms of support for this event based on its societal responsibility to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and work to convey the cultural message of the UAE to various cultures and peoples of the world, praising the role of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club in organizing the festival and their keenness to develop it and make the utmost efforts to enhance the event’s position as a leading platform for authentic Arab equestrianism.
The festival activities are held on the floor of the covered hall of the club. The first half is divided into two categories (A, B) for the category of fillies aged one to three years with the participation of 17 fillies, followed by the second half, which is a round for the mares category aged four years and older, divided into two categories (A, B) with the participation of 12 mares, followed by the third half, which is the round for the colts category from one to three years old, divided into two categories (A – B) with the participation of 11 foals, followed by the fourth round, which is the round for stallions aged four years and older, divided into two categories (A – B), with the participation of 15 stallions.
The rounds of the four championships are followed by the Fillies Championship, the Mares Championship, the Colts Championship, and the Stallion Championship. The horses that finish first, second, and third in all age group rounds qualify to participate in the “Fillies, Colts, Mares, and Stallions” championships to win the title of Golden Champion, Silver Champion, and Bronze Champion.
