Cooperation between "Space 42" and"Autonomous A2Z"To develop the smart transportation system in the country

DUBAI, 15th October, 2018 (WAM) – Space 42 signed a memorandum of understanding with Autonomous A2Z, a South Korean company specialized in the field of autonomous driving technologies, to establish a joint project in Abu Dhabi, aiming to publish and market Level 4 autonomous driving solutions in the Middle East and Africa regions.

The cooperation, which was announced during the GITEX Global 2025 exhibition, represents a major step towards localizing advanced autonomous driving technologies and establishing a sustainable smart transportation system in the UAE.

Hassan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space 42, stressed that cooperation between local and international companies contributes to the exchange of experiences and knowledge, which constitutes a pivotal factor in achieving the country’s ambitions in the field of autonomous mobility, in line with the strategic pillar of Space 42, which is its leadership in geospatial analysis services.

For his part, Jihyung Han, CEO of Autonomous A2Z, said that the company is working to expand its success in level 4 autonomous driving technologies to include the Middle East region.

He explained that through cooperation with Space 42, the company seeks to support the UAE’s national vision in the field of smart and autonomous transportation, promote local innovation, and consolidate the region’s position as a leading center in the sustainable transportation sector.

This joint project contributes to establishing an integrated national system for innovating, developing, and marketing autonomous mobility solutions, in support of the efforts of the “Smart Self-Driving Systems Council,” which aims to enhance strategies, innovation, and investment in developing, adopting, and using smart and autonomous systems, and supporting activities related to them in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

By integrating smart fleets and building specialized competencies, this partnership will enhance the efficiency of operations, raise safety levels, and support the sustainability goals of companies and cities alike.

It is noteworthy that since 2021, TXAI, the automated taxi service affiliated with Space 42, has recorded more than 600,000 kilometers of safe autonomous driving, and has completed about 20,000 passenger trips without recording any accidents. Today, its fleet covers Saadiyat, Yas, Al Maryah, and Reem Islands, in addition to Zayed International Airport.
