“Abu Dhabi Health” launches the first platform for intelligent analysis of population health in the world

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the regulatory body for the healthcare sector in the emirate, announced the launch of the “Intelligent Population Health Analysis” platform, as part of its participation in the activities of the “GITEX 2025 Global Technology Exhibition”, in a global achievement that is considered the first of its kind for population health management supported by artificial intelligence at the level of the emirate.
Within the framework of its vision to establish a health system that is among the smartest and most efficient in the world, the launch of the platform comes within the efforts of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to shift from the concept of health care to the concept of health based on prevention and proactiveness, as the platform includes data provided by several clinical and environmental sources, and others related to lifestyle, forming a unified digital twin of the health care system in the emirate.
The digital twin provides a comprehensive, real-time view of population health, enabling decision-makers and health professionals to identify and detect risks early, predict health trends, and simulate the impact of proposed actions before implementing them. The platform is based on two main axes: They are forecasting health trends, prevention and treatment through appropriate measures, as the platform continuously provides evidence-based strategies tailored to the demographic and health characteristics of Abu Dhabi.
By combining advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and spatial simulation technologies, the platform helps make more accurate and intelligent decisions, enhances the allocation of health resources, and contributes to enhancing the emirate’s ability to intervene early. Through predicting risks, simulating future scenarios, and targeted interventions, the platform seeks to prolong healthy life expectancy, enhance preventive health care, and enable citizens and residents of Abu Dhabi to enjoy a long, healthy life.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, said: “Our mission at the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi goes beyond ensuring the provision of health care, as we chart the features of a new era for long, healthy lives in which data, prevention and innovation come together to build healthier societies that enjoy a better quality of life. We work by employing advanced technologies, global cooperation and ambitious future visions to establish a flexible health system.” Proactive and able to anticipate needs, fill gaps, and enable individuals to achieve their fullest potential. We are proud of Abu Dhabi’s pioneering role in redefining what health systems can achieve when they are based on data-supported insights led by a clear, ambitious vision.”
For his part, General Manager of Microsoft in the UAE, Amr Kamel, said: “The launch of the intelligent analysis platform for population health is a milestone that contributes to improving the health of community members in the emirate. By harnessing artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, the platform contributes to providing proactive and personalized health care solutions, by supporting early detection of health risks, and enhancing the effectiveness of targeted prevention programs, including “It ensures that every individual benefits from smarter, data-driven decisions, thus enhancing society’s quality of life and extending healthy life expectancy.”
In its first phase, the platform will focus on obesity and cancer, leveraging AI-based insights to develop early interventions, strengthen prevention programs, and reduce the impact of these diseases on society.
The launch of the platform is an embodiment of the cooperation that brought together the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Microsoft, to integrate artificial intelligence and data analytics, and make them at the heart of decision-making in the health sector. This achievement consolidates Abu Dhabi’s leading position as an incubator for innovation, where pioneering technologies are built, tested and expanded to achieve tangible impact, while the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi continues to play its leadership role in smart healthcare globally, relying on the potential of data and cooperation to shape a healthier future for all.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi invites visitors to the GITEX 2025 International Technology Exhibition to explore the emirate’s latest innovations in the field of smart health care, interact with a group of experts, and learn closely how artificial intelligence and digital technologies contribute to making a qualitative shift in the future of health care, within the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion – Hall 19, Pavilion No. 20, from 13 to 17 October 2025.
