Ismailia is preparing to hold the twenty-fifth edition of the Ismailia International Folklore Festival
Ismailia Governorate continues its preparations for the launch of the twenty-fifth edition of the Ismailia International Folklore Festival on the occasion of the festival’s silver jubilee, which is scheduled to be held during the period from the 24th to the 30th of October 2024, with the Devil’s show of the bands participating in the festival being held at exactly 5 pm on Friday, October 24, in front of the old Governorate General’s Office building on Muhammad Ali Street, and the opening ceremony will be held at eight o’clock in the evening on Saturday, October 25. In the main hall of the Roman Theater on the Ring Road, where the closing ceremony will also be held on Thursday, October 30.
A number of Egyptian bands are participating in the festival this year, namely Sharqia – Aswan – Alexandria – Tannoura – New Valley – Minya – Assiut – Halayeb, the Ismailia Band and the People of Determination Band, in addition to a special performance from the Reda Band and the National Folk Arts Band, in addition to the participation of a number of Among the foreign and Arab teams are Poland – Romania – India – Sri Lanka – Uzbekistan – Jordan – Algeria – Palestine – Guinea – Lebanon – Tunisia – Indonesia.
The artist Maher Kamal, Advisor to the Governor for Arts and Cultural Affairs and Director of the Festival, indicated that this session of the Ismailia International Folk Arts Festival will be distinguished through several activities and proposed programs that are being studied, so that the opening and closing ceremonies will come out in an honorable manner that befits the name of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Ismailia Governorate, and that it will always and forever remain on the list of international festivals. Ashraf Suleiman, Director of the Tourism Department in Ismailia, explained that the venues for the performances within the city of Ismailia are Sheikh Zayed Park – Al-Khalideen Park – Al-Danfa Club – The Family Club next to Al-Jalaa Theater. A special show for one day only.
