Qatar launches a land bridge of humanitarian aid to support the Palestinian people in Gaza

Qatar launched a land bridge of humanitarian aid in response to the urgent needs and to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, across the territories of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Egypt.

The Qatar News Agency reported that the bridge includes 87,754 shelter tents provided by the Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent, to provide decent and safe shelter for approximately 436,170 people from affected families, at a time when more than 288 thousand families lost their homes as a result of the Israeli aggression.

 

Participated in launching the land bridge were Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation, Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, and Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bishri, Assistant Secretary-General for Communication and Development. Resources at the Qatar Red Crescent, and Mr. Nasser Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Deputy Director General for Shared Services at the Qatar Fund for Development.

 

This initiative embodies Qatar’s commitment to standing by the brotherly Palestinian people, strengthening their resilience in the face of humanitarian challenges, supporting recovery and reconstruction efforts, and building a more stable and dignified future. This initiative comes in the wake of the signing of the document to end the war in Gaza during the Sharm El-Sheikh summit, and is an extension of Qatari support for the Palestinian people.
