"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language" Launches an initiative "We read to children"

Abu Dhabi, 17th October / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center announced today, as part of its community campaign to support sustainable reading, the launch of the “We Read for Children” initiative, which falls under the Kalima Reading Club, and aims to enhance the status of the Arabic language in the hearts of children and young people, encourage them to make reading a daily habit, and give them an innovative reading experience inspired by the goals of the “Year of Community.”

The event will be held at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi every Saturday until mid-November.

Children will be treated to interactive reading sessions led by an elite group of specialists in children’s literature, combining education and entertainment, during which they will present selections of stories published in Arabic by the “Kalima” translation and “Publications” projects, in addition to lively accompanying activities that include supportive educational and illustrative means that enrich the participants’ cultural knowledge and instil in them the values ​​of science and creativity.

Through this initiative, the Center seeks to instill a love of reading in the hearts of children, and to connect them to the worlds of knowledge, which contributes to the development of their linguistic and expressive skills, enhances their interaction with their surroundings, and opens up to them horizons of imagination and creativity.

Through its initiatives, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center continues its efforts to enhance cultural identity and empower the Arabic language, and its endeavor to reach all segments of society, inspired by the state’s strategic vision of building a cohesive society linked to its mother tongue, moving confidently towards achieving sustainable development at all levels.
