The Japanese parliament will vote next Tuesday to choose a new prime minister

The Sessions Committee of the Japanese House of Representatives announced today its agreement to hold a voting session to choose the new prime minister next Tuesday.

Kyodo News Agency reported that the Free Democratic Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party agreed to hold the vote on October 21, after Parliament failed to set a date for the session during the past two days due to inconclusive coalition negotiations between the political parties.
