"Sharjah Arts" Organize an exhibition "Of land and water" In Kalba
Kalba, October 17, 2026 – The Sharjah Art Foundation, as part of its fall 2025 program, opened the “From Land and Water” exhibition, which will be held at the Kalba Ice Factory between October 17, 2025 and May 31, 2026, in the presence of Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in Khor Fakkan, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler in Kalba, and Sheikha Hoor. Al Qasimi, President of the Foundation Sharjah Arts.
The exhibition presents a selection of the Sharjah Art Foundation’s collectibles, which are displayed for the first time in the Eastern Region of the Emirate of Sharjah. It was curated by Jiwon Fee, Director of the Foundation’s Evaluation Department, and Abdullah Al-Janahi and Amal Al-Ali, assistant curators, in cooperation with Soraya Kreidieh and Shahad Murshid, from the Collections Department.
The exhibition includes huge installations by nine artists and an art group from all over the world, all of which deal with our relationship and connection to land, water, and homeland, and the contradiction between the ambitions of the post-colonial nation-state on the one hand, and the heartbreak of those deprived of their motherland, or those with fragmented identities deprived of state recognition on the other hand.
