is one of the most prominent historical monuments in , as its name was linked to the biography of the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace.
And the Prophet – may God bless him and grant him peace – prayed the Eid prayer and the rain prayer, to remain a witness to the longevity of the Prophet’s legacy and the depth of Islamic history in the city.
Al-Ghumama Mosque
The mosque is located west of is about 200 meters away, in the place that was known in the past as “Al-Musalla”, where the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – performed the Eid prayer outside the Prophet’s Mosque.
The mosque was called the Clouds because it is said that a cloud shaded the Prophet – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – when he prayed in that place.

The mosque was built during the reign of Caliph Omar bin Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – during his governorship over Medina.
It was restored and developed in later stages to preserve its authentic historical and architectural character.
