المملكة: The Speaker of the Shura Council chairs the Arab coordination meeting in Geneva
Your Excellency Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, the coordination meeting of the Arab Group at the level of heads of parliaments, on the sidelines of the work of the 151st General Assembly of For the Inter-Parliamentary Union currently held in Geneva.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed the heads of Arab parliaments and participating delegations, expressing his hope that this meeting will result in the coordination of Arab positions on the topics on the agenda of the General Assembly, in a way that achieves the interests and issues of the Arab nation.

The meeting reviewed the report of the representative of the Arab Group in the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on the work of the Committee. Requests for the inclusion of emergency or additional items on the General Assembly’s agenda were also discussed. During the meeting, the Arab Group’s candidates for vacant positions in the permanent or subcommittees of the Union were discussed, as the meeting approved the selection of Shura Council member Dr. Rima Al-Yahya as a member of the Bureau of the Standing Committee for Nations Affairs.
