The Argentine legend predicted the future of the Moroccan national team 50 years ago!

Argentine legend Carlos Bilardo predicted 50 years ago, specifically in 1975, that the future of football would be in Africa, led by Morocco, and not Europe, South America, and Asia.
Fans shared on social media the statements of Bilardo (87 years old), the coach who led the Argentine national team and the legend Diego Maradona to win the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, in which he said that “Morocco will lead the world football scene.”
Bilardo, known as “The Doctor,” said during a television interview reported by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”: “I said it in 1975, when we went to participate in the Mohammed V Cup in Morocco: Here (in Morocco) is the future of football. It is not in Europe, nor in South America, nor even in Asia.”
Bilardo’s statements come hours before the final match between Morocco and Argentina in the World Youth Cup final scheduled for Monday morning (3:00 UAE time), in a new historic achievement for Moroccan football after the “Atlas Lions” had reached the semi-finals of the World Youth Cup in the 2022 World Cup in Doha.
Belardo added: “In Africa, people still play the game. Here (in Buenos Aires) you wander in the streets and do not find anyone playing football. In the countryside, yes, but if you go to Italy, in Rome, Milan or Florence, you do not find anyone playing. And in Germany, in Cologne or Munich… they also do not play. There is no place.”
He concluded: “On the contrary, in Africa, football is played everywhere. They have strong countries like Cameroon, Nigeria, South Africa, Tunisia and Morocco, where the game is played with love and passion. This is a good thing because they have the skill.”
