Chinese industrial output rose by 6.5% in September

BEIJING, October 20 / WAM / Value-added industrial output in China recorded an increase of 6.5% on an annual basis during last September, accelerating from the 5.2% increase recorded during the previous month.
Official data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics in China today showed that during the first nine months of this year, industrial output increased by 6.2% compared to the same period last year.
Industrial output is used to measure the activity of companies whose annual main turnover is at least 20 million yuan (about 2.82 million US dollars).
In detailed data, the added value of the manufacturing sector’s output increased by 7.3% on an annual basis last month, while the added value of the mining sector’s output increased by 6.4%, and the added value of the output of the electricity, heating, gas and water production and supply sector increased by 0.6%.
As the data showed, China’s gross domestic product rose by 5.2% on an annual basis during the first three quarters of this year, while during the third quarter, the country’s gross domestic product grew by 4.8% on an annual basis.
