Fathers of daughters are more fair and compassionate in leadership

There is increasing research confirming that fathers who raise daughters become more compassionate and fair in their professional dealings, as the experience of fatherhood profoundly affects their way of thinking and leadership behavior.

According to a report published by the Parents website, fathers who are involved in their daughters’ daily lives gain a broader awareness of issues of social inequality, which is reflected in their management style at work.

Dr. Annemarie Caino from Gonzaga University explains that a father watching his daughter being excluded or treated unfairly opens his eyes to gender biases and changes his worldview.

As for psychologist Avigail Lev, she points out that fatherhood develops important skills such as patience, problem solving, and active listening, which are essential traits in successful leaders. When a father helps his daughter overcome a problem, he is practically applying the same communication skills he needs in the workplace.

Leaf emphasizes that empathy is not a weakness but rather a leadership strength, citing the research of biologist Frans de Waal, who found that cooperation and empathy are among the most prominent characteristics of the most successful males.

At home, these fathers provide role models of fairness and emotional awareness, which reflects positively on their sons and daughters. Kayno concludes, “The justice that the father learns from raising his daughter makes him more humane in leading modern work teams.”
