Ahmed bin Mohammed approves the nomination of Zayed bin Hamad as President of the Emirates World Cup for Falcon Racing

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, President of the International Federation of Falcon Sports and Racing, President of the Emirates Falcons Federation, approved the nomination of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Vice President of the International Federation of Falcon Sports and Racing, Vice President of the Emirates Falcons Federation, as President of the Emirates World Cup for Falcon Racing. His Highness also approved the formation of the Supreme Committee for the Championship, headed by His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan, Secretary-General of the International Federation of Falcon Sports and Racing, Secretary-General of the Emirates Falcons Federation.

His Highness expressed his wishes to the President of the Championship and the Chairman of its Supreme Committee for success in their mission to present a historical version of the event with the first launch of its competitions, stressing that the pioneering role of the UAE in preserving traditional sports stems from the depth of its connection with the region’s culture and rich heritage, and its keenness to give this heritage, in all its manifestations and forms, the appreciation and warmth it deserves on the global level.

The tournament is being held in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Office, and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and will be organized annually around the world starting from the 2025-2026 season.

The tasks of the Supreme Committee of the Emirates World Cup for Falcon Racing include general supervision and full coordination of all aspects of organizing and managing the tournament, setting the general vision and objectives of the tournament, approving the comprehensive executive plan, supervising the formation of subcommittees and executive teams, and approving the organizational, administrative, financial and logistical regulations for the tournament. Four subcommittees emerge from the tournament’s Supreme Committee to provide the necessary support in all aspects. These are the Referees Committee, the Objection Committee, the Technical Committee, and the Registration, Protocol and Logistical Support Committee.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan expressed his great pride in the decision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to name him President of the Emirates World Cup for Falcon Racing, stressing that this confidence doubles the amount of responsibility to provide the best data for the success of an event that bears the name of the Emirates and is held outside its borders, in a unique gesture that occurs for the first time at the level of falconry, with important implications that embody support. The great reception this sport has received from the wise leadership of the UAE, and the distinguished Emirati presence in various sporting forums.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan praised the arrangements and high readiness shown by the work teams in the sisterly State of Kuwait to host the tournament, and the continuous coordination with the Supreme Committee for the tournament, praising the spirit of cooperation and integration between all the cadres concerned to achieve the common goal of organizing an event worthy of the history of the two countries and their ancient position in the ancient sports that are linked to the culture and societal heritage of the region.

In turn, His Excellency Rashid bin Markhan extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the occasion of His Highness issuing the decision to form the Supreme Committee for the Championship, and said: “We pledge to provide the best for the success of this important event, by making all necessary efforts to provide the means that will help consolidate the goals of this tournament and spread its message at the level of all member states of the International Federation of Falcon Sports and Racing to ensure a future.” Prosperous for this sport.”

The sisterly State of Kuwait will host the first edition of the tournament during the period from 4 to 7 December next, with a total of seven rounds designated for the age group (chicken), which includes four main rounds, in addition to a round for free birds, and another for the Shaheen produced by the farms, in addition to the final round (the cup), which witnesses five falcons from each category qualifying for the main rounds, which are: Pure Jeer, Jeer Shaheen, Qarmousha, and Jeer. Follow, as the total tournament prizes amount to half a million dirhams, presented to the winners in the various categories.

The UAE World Cup for Falcon Racing aims to advance the sport of falconry and spread it globally, and to consolidate the UAE’s position as a leading destination in the field of falconry racing, in addition to preserving the heritage and developing it with modern methods through international tournaments that enhance sporting values ​​and the spirit of fair competition, and ensure the sustainability of this sport for future generations, so that it becomes an integral part of global sporting activities.
