265 male and female players compete in the UAE International Table Tennis Championship for men and women

Dubai, October 20 / WAM / The Emirates Table Tennis Federation announced the organization of the Emirates International Table Tennis Championship for youth and juniors as part of the International Federation of the Game’s series of championships, which it organizes in cooperation with the International Federation, and with the support of the Dubai Sports Council.

The championship competitions will be held starting tomorrow with the participation of 265 male and female players representing 26 countries, and will continue until October 24th, in the Shabab Al Ahli Club hall in Al Mamzar.

Participants compete in the categories of singles under 11 years old for boys and girls, singles under 13 years old for boys and girls, singles under 15 years old boys and girls, singles under 17 years old boys and girls, singles under 19 years old boys and girls, mixed doubles under 15 years old, and mixed doubles under 19 years old. Competitions are held on 10 tables in addition to 8 training tables.

The tournament is managed by 26 international referees from inside and outside the country, in addition to the German tournament’s general referee, Michael, and two assistant referees. The Ghanaian Francis is present as a representative of the International Federation of Football, while Hassan Al-Zarouni is the tournament referee.
Dawoud Al Hajri, President of the UAE Table Tennis Federation, confirmed that the tournament is witnessing record participation from 26 countries from around the world.
He added: “We were keen to field the largest number of our players and we reached 32 players from various clubs, which is the maximum for any country organizing the tournament. There is no doubt that the exposure of our players to these different technical schools is better than foreign camps, and we aspire to benefit extensively.”
