Worth $8.5 billion…a huge US-Australian agreement for rare earths

Washington, October 20 / WAM / US President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese signed, on Monday, a huge agreement worth $8.5 billion for cooperation in the field of rare and strategic minerals.
The move, which took place at the White House, aims to strengthen American supply chains with vital minerals (used in semiconductors and batteries), and to employ Australia’s mineral wealth as a strategic alternative to Chinese supply sources, according to the Associated Press.
