I am ready to be a translator between Trump and Zelensky

Finnish President Alexander Stubb announced his willingness to play the role of “translator” between US President Donald Trump and outgoing Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

Staub said in a statement to the British newspaper The Times: “I see my role as good… Therefore, if I can be useful in settling the Ukrainian crisis as a translator between Zelensky and Trump, so be it, and this is a wonderful thing.”

He added, “The possibility of sending messages and contacting the American president is useful, but I must be careful, because this may end one day.”

This comes against the backdrop of President Trump’s meeting with Zelensky at the White House on Friday, which the media reported took place in a tense atmosphere.
