"Kyrgyzstan" Offering natural products "World Food Week"

Abu Dhabi, 21 October / WAM / During World Food Week, Kyrgyzstan showcased its sustainable natural products, which include honey of various types and nuts manufactured using methods that preserve their nutritional value.

The At-Bashi Honey Producers Association from Kyrgyzstan participated in the World Food Week activities by displaying and distributing the “white honey” for which the At-Bashi region in the Naryn region is famous. It is one of the finest types of natural honey in the world, as it is produced in the mountain highlands at an altitude of up to 3,000 meters, and is harvested only once a year.

At-Bashi white honey is one of the prominent national products in Kyrgyzstan, as it has been included in the “GI – Geographical Indication” strategy, bearing the status of “a product of distinct geographical origin,” and is recognized as one of the country’s unique natural symbols.

The association plays a pivotal role in supporting and organizing the honey production sector in the region, as it works to organize producers and beekeepers in At Bashi to collect and market white honey under its supervision, ensuring unification of standards and improving the quality of the product. The association is also concerned with encouraging the adoption of highland honey production standards and ensuring its excellence in accordance with internationally recognized quality frameworks.

The Kyrgyz “Ishker KG” cooperative provided a group of sustainable natural products, including nuts such as walnuts, pistachios and almonds, in addition to processed products such as nut oils, pastes and flour, as part of its efforts to promote sustainable agriculture and empower rural women in the country.

The cooperative includes more than 300 farmers and business partners.

Dr. Tabaldiyev Tinistan, representative of the Ecopal Organic and Ecological Honey Company in Kyrgyzstan, told the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the company is displaying during the event 100% natural honey extracted from bees and from natural flower sources, without any additives of sugar or artificial materials, explaining that the honey is produced using sustainable methods.

Tinistan pointed out that the company focuses on producing multiple types of organic honey, including honey from wild flowers collected from remote areas to ensure its purity and high quality, and multi-floral honey extracted from the nectar of a variety of flowers to give it a rich and varied taste, in addition to white honey, which is considered one of the rarest and most distinctive types of honey.
