Closing of the first day "For World Food Week"

Abu Dhabi, 21 October / WAM / The first day of World Food Week 2025 concluded its activities at the ADNEC Center in Abu Dhabi, with the launch of a series of innovative initiatives and advanced dialogue sessions, emphasizing Abu Dhabi’s leadership role in promoting the global food future and unifying international efforts to confront food security challenges.
The week, which continues until October 23, includes four main events, including the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition, the Abu Dhabi Dates Exhibition, the Global Food Dialogues, and the Agricultural Technology and Farmers Forum.
The “Global Food Dialogues” witnessed a series of discussion sessions that brought together experts, decision-makers and innovators to discuss the opportunities and challenges of a more sustainable and resilient food system. The “Agriculture on the Front Lines” session addressed the shift towards climate-smart agriculture, while the “From Global to Local” session focused on the role of multinational companies in strengthening local policies. In its fourth edition, the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition highlights its position as a global platform that brings together the most prominent companies and brands, with three main areas for government agencies and leading companies, local companies and Emirati market leaders, international pavilions and emerging companies, while the Abu Dhabi Dates Exhibition was launched in its eleventh session in cooperation with the Khalifa State Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, with the participation of more than 20 countries and about 90 pavilions, with a program Hosted buyers that enable building effective business relationships.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office also launched the Alternative Proteins Initiative through the Food and Water Development Complex, with the participation of an elite group of local and international experts and exhibitors, and included the signing of three memorandums of understanding to establish protein fermentation centers in Abu Dhabi, to enhance sustainable food production and food security.
In accompanying activities, the National Coffee Tasting Championship was launched, organized by the Specialty Coffee Association, with the participation of 48 contestants from various parts of the country, as well as the International Gourmet Exhibition, which presented live and interactive cooking demonstrations from international cuisines such as Mexico and Japan, with exclusive tasting experiences for visitors.
