The conference encouraged member states to effectively implement the common vision “Working together for a secure future in the field of water,” calling for the adoption of strategies that support technology transfer, exchange of technical expertise, and building human capabilities, in a way that enhances collective efforts; To achieve water security and sustainable development, stressing the importance of integrating artificial intelligence in developing innovative solutions for water management and training national cadres in this vital field.
Capacity building and exchange of experiences
The conference called for strengthening cross-border cooperation between countries riparian to shared rivers and groundwater basins, and adopting integrated national strategies to achieve sustainable development goals, especially the sixth goal related to Water and sanitation, calling on the General Secretariat to organize workshops and training programs to build capacity and exchange experiences among specialists, in addition to updating the list of national communication centers to facilitate coordination between member states and the organization’s relevant institutions.
The conference concluded its work by thanking and appreciating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for successfully organizing and hosting the fifth session, praising its efforts in supporting water cooperation initiatives. Environment and sustainable development. He also welcomed the Kingdom and the World Water Council’s organization of the Eleventh World Water Forum in Riyadh in 2027, under the slogan “Working for a Better Tomorrow,” and urged member states to provide support and active participation in it.
