Innovative Emirati projects participating in World Food Week

ABU DHABI, 23 October / WAM / World Food Week 2025 in Abu Dhabi witnessed the prominent participation of a number of innovative Emirati companies and projects that provided qualitative solutions in the fields of food, beverages, food supplies and equipment, hospitality services and supply, which embodies the country’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the food sector and supports its efforts in enhancing national and global food security.
A number of project owners confirmed in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that their participation in this global event represents a valuable opportunity to showcase their innovations to experts and investors from various countries of the world, and to learn about the latest global trends in the fields of food, noting that the event constitutes an important platform for displaying Emirati success stories in industrial and food entrepreneurship.
Khadija Abdullah, CEO of Bawabat Al Sharq Bakery Equipment Factory, said that her participation in the exhibition comes with support from the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, explaining that the factory is a distinguished model for Emirati industries specialized in designing, installing and maintaining bakery equipment.
She added that the support provided by the Fund formed a fundamental foundation for the project’s growth and expansion into new markets, including the Gulf countries, Japan, Yemen, India and Sudan, stressing that this support strengthens the confidence of Emirati youth in their ability to enter the fields of entrepreneurship with confidence and ambition.
For his part, Mohammed Al Harmoudi, representative of Excellence Meats, explained that the company, which was established in 2013 as a 100% Emirati company and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, specializes in selling the finest types of fresh and frozen meat, including Wagyu meat, deer meat, American prime, and goat meat selected from the finest farms in New Zealand, Australia, the United States and Spain, stressing that the support provided by the Fund Khalifa contributed to developing the project and expanding its work, which strengthens the culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship among Emirati youth.
For his part, Saif Khalfan, coordinator of Hafeet Honey Company, said that the company’s participation in the exhibition highlights the unique types of Emirati honey, such as Sidr, Samar, Ghaf and Qurm honey, pointing out that the rich environmental diversity in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi contributes to the production of honey of international quality.
He expressed his thanks to the organizing bodies for providing an ideal environment for establishing partnerships, attracting investments, and supporting innovation in the food industries.
For his part, Khaled Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Liwa Dates Factory, confirmed that the factory offers a range of innovative products, including fresh and stuffed dates, jams, pastes, juices and date gifts, explaining that these efforts embody the Emirati culture of innovation and contribute to enhancing local production, supporting national food security and reducing dependence on imports.
He added that the factory seeks to support the UAE’s vision to become a global center for food innovation.
It is noteworthy that World Food Week 2025, in its edition this year, emphasizes the UAE’s pioneering role in adopting sustainable and innovative solutions in the food sector, and enhancing cooperation between entrepreneurs, investors and global experts.
It also constitutes a global platform that combines innovation, cooperation, and growth opportunities, and highlights the country’s position as a major center for developing sustainable food industries and pioneering projects that support the future of global food security.
