"Abu Dhabi Agriculture" divorce "Golden List" To motivate food establishments to excel

Abu Dhabi, October 23 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority today announced the launch of the “Golden List” initiative, as one of the specific initiatives within the “Zadna Evaluation” program, which allows the public to view the evaluation of food establishments based on the level of food safety.

The initiative aims to enhance transparency and motivate food establishments operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to excel in performance and fully comply with food safety standards.

The launch of the “Golden List” comes within the framework of the Authority’s strategy to develop inspection and control systems, and achieve the highest levels of efficiency in risk management, by adopting a modern regulatory approach based on risk analysis and prioritization, which contributes to consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading regional center in food safety and agricultural sustainability.

Food establishments included in the “Gold List” are granted special regulatory privileges, the most prominent of which is the transition from an inspection system based on the degree of risk to an audit system, which reflects the Authority’s confidence in the level of compliance of these establishments and reduces the unnecessary repetition of inspection visits, allowing it to focus on improving performance and developing services.

In order for an establishment to be included in the Golden List, it must obtain a compliance rating (A) in the last three routine inspection visits, without detecting any high-risk violations within one year from the date of the last visit, in addition to meeting all legislative and technical requirements and standards specified in the approved system. Establishments are evaluated periodically to ensure they continue to comply and maintain their position on the list.

Mohammed Abdul Latif Al Hammadi, Director of the Food Control Department at the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, confirmed that the Golden List represents an advanced stage in the development of food control systems and programs, as establishments committed to a more flexible and effective regulatory system are rewarded, indicating that this initiative reflects the authority’s direction towards building a positive partnership with the private sector, and motivating food establishments to excel and fully comply with safety standards. He said: We believe that enhancing trust between the Authority and food establishments begins with recognizing excellence, and giving committed establishments more space for innovation and growth, without prejudice to safety requirements, as the Gold List is considered a distinguished classification and a certificate of quality and excellence.

The Authority intends to organize a series of introductory and awareness-raising workshops for food establishments about the mechanism for joining the Golden List, in addition to launching supportive digital tools to facilitate evaluation and follow-up.

The list will also be updated periodically and published on the authority’s official platforms, ensuring transparency and stimulating positive competition between establishments.

The “Golden List” initiative is one of the advanced components of the “Zadna Evaluation” electronic platform launched by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, and comes within the Authority’s vision to consolidate Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading regional center in food safety and agricultural sustainability, and to achieve institutional excellence in all aspects of control and inspection.

The platform aims to enhance transparency and motivate food establishments to excel and comply, as it allows the public to view the evaluation of food establishments based on the level of food safety, in addition to a separate assessment of the establishment’s participation in a health program in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health.
