Al Ain Book Festival 2025 celebrates poetry and creative arts

ABU DHABI, 24TH OCTOBER / WAM / Al Ain Book Festival 2025, organized by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language during the period from 24th to 30th November, devotes a wide space to celebrating poetry and creative arts, through its prominent public program, “Nights of Poetry: The Sung Word,” which has proven its presence in the past three sessions by attracting a wide audience and providing a qualitative experience that links poetry with music and singing.
In its fourth session, which bears the slogan “Poems are sung from Al Ain,” the program continues to shed light on the poets of the city of Al Ain who contributed to preserving the popular poetic heritage and highlighting its aesthetic and emotional values.
The program presents segments targeting various segments of society, in line with the “Year of Society,” including dialogue sessions on poetry and heritage, highlighting how poetry has formed an integral part of daily life through proverbs and verses that emulate the community of Al Ain.
The program, which is awaited by poetry lovers, hosts more than 30 poets, within 7 poetry sessions and evenings, held at Al-Muwaiji Palace every evening of the festival.
In addition to poets reciting a selection of their poems, the sessions will host poets performing paintings from Emirati folklore in their land and sea environments.
The program also includes specialized sessions that address issues of authentic folk poetry, including those related to national identity and society.
For the first time in the city of Al Ain, the program opens the way for the participation of children and young people’s poetic talents, by allocating a session for them, which highlights their poetic energies on the one hand, and gives them new skills when they hear poets’ poems, which contributes to consolidating the talent for poetry in their souls, and stimulates it in their creativity in the future.
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center is investing in the success of the “Nights of Poetry: The Sung Word” program to make it a platform for activating the cultural movement in the field of heritage and popular poetry, in line with the UAE’s interest in its cultural heritage, the status of popular poetry as an important tributary of the Arabic language, and its ability to transmit heritage, so that the program emerges as one of the center’s projects that achieves its strategic goals aimed at strengthening the status of the Arabic language as a component. Mainly culturally.
