The Dubai Family Business Center launches the third cycle of the Dubai Family Business Management Programme

The Dubai Family Business Center, which operates under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, launched the third session of the Dubai Family Business Management Programme.
The program aims to empower and develop the skills of the leaders of the second tier of family businesses in the Emirate of Dubai to ensure the continuity of these companies and plan the succession of their ownership and management, in order to prepare and develop effective management skills and improve governance practices in family businesses.
The program also aims to prepare a new generation of family business leaders, educate and raise awareness of family businesses about the best local and international practices, build a local and international communication network with local leaders, businessmen and international institutions, in addition to enhancing the culture of social responsibility in family businesses.
Training courses
The program combines precise qualitative education with applied academic knowledge, and includes training courses, field visits to international family companies, in addition to an international trip to Italy that allows participants to gain practical experiences that enhance their leadership capabilities.
The program includes 27 Participated by second-year leaders in family companies, and includes a training program supervised by an elite group of professors from the Bocconi School of Management in Milan – Italy, in addition to virtual sessions and others for personal guidance.
The program aims to enable participants to keep pace with the requirements for the transfer of leadership in family businesses to new generations, as the program works to build effective leadership skills in a way that contributes to achieving a smooth transition between successive generations and promoting best governance practices in line with the strategic objectives of the Dubai Family Business Center.

An outstanding educational experience
The Dubai Family Business Management Program focuses on providing a comprehensive vision of the world of family businesses, by reviewing its role in the global economy and identifying its goals, resources and challenges. It also provides an integrated methodology for understanding these businesses, and covers the principles of their governance across three main axes: the company, the family, and the owners, while highlighting effective leadership methods in this context.
The program also addresses the role of boards of directors, by enabling participants to work effectively within the board and with executive management, and qualifying them to join the board of directors in family business enterprises.
Participants in the program will go through a distinguished educational experience at the Bocconi School of Management in Milan, Italy, one of the most prestigious international academic institutions specialized in business administration, economics and law, which was founded in 1971 It is considered one of the most prominent business schools in Europe and the world, and is famous for its prestigious programs such as the Master of Business Administration.
The educational experience focuses on various aspects of family business management, including family entrepreneurship, sustainability, and impact investing in family wealth.
The program provides participants with the opportunity to benefit from global academic expertise provided by a group of distinguished professors, in addition to direct interaction with prominent family business leaders.
The program includes case studies, interactive simulations, field visits, and discussions with experts and entrepreneurs, allowing participants to exchange experiences and benefit from leading global practices. The program also provides affiliates with the basic tools to enhance their media presence and effectively represent their companies on various platforms.
Development projects
The program allows participants to work on development projects for their family companies by applying the frameworks and concepts acquired in the program, in addition to participating in personal guidance and counseling sessions to achieve self-development goals.
The Dubai Family Business Management Program works to enhance cooperation between the government and private sectors by benefiting from success stories from previous experiences, and involving members in pioneering economic projects in Dubai within the system of partnerships between the two sectors, in addition to building direct channels of communication with the leadership of the Dubai government, which contributes to supporting the economic development process in the emirate.
By the end of the program, the participants will be able to make a qualitative shift in the business environment of family companies, motivate them to plan leadership succession systems and sustainability, and implement governance systems in accordance with international best practices, in addition to supporting family companies’ strategies and preparing them for the future in a way that ensures their sustainability, in addition to building local and global relationships and partnerships.

Family businesses are gaining special importance in the development trends of Dubai’s economy, as they represent about 90% of the total number of private companies in the UAE, and their investments are distributed in various fields, and contribute about 40% of the UAE’s GDP, and employs more than 70% of the workforce.
