Tomorrow, in all regions of the Kingdom, The 2025 National Afforestation Season, organized by the National Afforestation Programme, under the slogan "A hand plants and a land flourishes"; This is to contribute to achieving the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative and the development of Vegetation cover, reducing land degradation, and promoting the dissemination of the culture of afforestation in various regions of the Kingdom.
The program explained that the national afforestation season comes this year to consolidate the importance of growing local plants suitable for the Saudi environment, raise awareness of the impact of wrong environmental practices, in addition to encouraging volunteer work in the field of the environment, and strengthening partnerships with the governmental, private and non-profit sectors.
Great Achievements
The program indicated that the first national afforestation season, which was held last year, achieved great achievements in various regions of the Kingdom, represented by increasing the number of trees planted, rehabilitating degraded lands, expanding the scope of community participation, and raising the level of environmental awareness among all segments of society, which contributed to supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance environmental sustainability.
The national afforestation season represents a movement Environmentally and socially, it consolidates the concept of sustainability and embodies the role of all sectors and members of society in preserving and developing vegetation. To achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
