The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar had weight in the Gaza agreement

US President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, along with other Arab and Islamic countries, had an influential role and clear weight in what was reached regarding the situation in Gaza.

Trump explained that efforts to stabilize the sector are making progress, noting that an international force will soon be deployed there, following his meeting in Doha with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during his stop to refuel.

The US President told reporters, “What we want is sustainable peace,” pointing to Qatar’s readiness to participate in peacekeeping forces if the need arises, and praising its role, saying that it is “a great ally and a major player in the stability of the region.”

In another context, Trump made it clear that he does not intend to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the present time, stressing that he “will not meet with him until he believes that it is possible to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine.” He added to reporters in Doha: “You should know that we will conclude an agreement, and I will not waste my time.”
