Lithuania.. Vilnius Airport closed again due to monitoring "Suspicious balloons"

Vilnius Airport was closed on Lithuaniatemporarily closed for the second night in a row, and for the third time in a week, after weather balloons were detected coming from Belarus.

The company operating the airport explained that The suspension of air traffic continued for hours on Saturday evening for security reasons, before the airspace was reopened at dawn on Sunday.

The National Crisis Management Center indicated that several balloons entered Lithuanian airspace from Belarus, while some of them are believed to be used to smuggle cigarettes into the territory of the European Union.
