المملكة: “Rural Saudi Arabia”: Planting 15.5 million different seedlings to support small farmers

The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program “Rural Saudi Arabia” revealed its effective contribution to planting more than 15.5 million seedlings in various regions of the Kingdom until the end of 2024, in the fruit, coffee, and rose sectors.
The program confirmed, in conjunction with the launch of National Afforestation Season 2025, continuing its efforts to support and enhance afforestation activities by empowering small farmers and training them in modern agricultural practices, to contribute to achieving environmental and agricultural sustainability in accordance with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Green Saudi Arabia.
Different seedlings in all regions
The spokesman for “Saudi Countryside,” Majed Al-Braikan, explained that this huge statistic included 12.6 million seedlings in the fruit sector, 1.8 million seedlings in the coffee sector, in addition to 1.1 million seedlings in the rose sector.
With regard to geographical distribution, “Al-Braikan” indicated that the region Najran topped the regions of the Kingdom in the number of planted seedlings, with nearly 6 million seedlings.
It was followed by the Asir region with 4.5 million seedlings, then the Jazan region with 1.6 million seedlings, the Al-Bahah region with 1.4 million seedlings, and Makkah Al-Mukarramah with 1.1 million seedlings, in addition to 971 thousand seedlings planted in the rest of the other regions of the Kingdom.
Al-Braikan stated that the program works to provide seedling varieties that are compatible with The local environment for small farmers, in addition to disseminating modern agricultural practices. He stressed that this support aims to help farmers raise their agricultural efficiency and productivity, and at the same time contribute to the development of the national vegetation cover.
