The UAE Ambassador to the Philippines is granted the title of “Goodwill Ambassador for Peace”

Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, was honored and awarded the title of “Goodwill Ambassador for Peace” by the United Nations Association in the Philippines (UNAP), during the celebration of the eightieth anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and the Distinguished Humanitarian Work Awards ceremony, which was held on October 24, 2025.

This honor comes in recognition of his outstanding contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and the Philippines, and his efforts in supporting humanitarian and development initiatives, which reflect the vision and approach of the founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” who was a pioneering leader in humanitarian work and giving, and whose approach was followed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” who made humanitarian work a basic pillar of politics. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State embodies the values of tolerance and coexistence, which represent the foundations of peace and common prosperity, and consolidates the UAE’s permanent commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts and international solidarity.

In this context, the UAE, under the supervision of Al Zaabi, continued to provide relief and development initiatives and assistance to the friendly Filipino people over the past years, which included flying relief planes and medical and humanitarian aid to those affected by natural disasters and crises, which reflects the country’s continued commitment to supporting people in times of need.

In his speech on this occasion, he expressed his pride in this honor, stressing that it embodies the position that the UAE enjoys in supporting peoples, and its vision in consolidating the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence, indicating that UAE diplomacy is not limited to building relations only, but extends to promoting humanitarian work, spreading hope, and consolidating solidarity and cooperation in the world.
