Al-Khatib: We seek to double the tourism sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product to 10%

The Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khatib, said: The tourism sector represents 18% of the gross domestic product, and in Saudi Arabia it represents 5% of the total gross domestic product.

He added during a dialogue session at the Future Investment Initiative conference: We need to double the percentage of tourism’s contribution to the gross domestic product in Saudi Arabia to 10% in the next five years.

He pointed out that this represents 10% of jobs, and we currently have 4%.
