He explained that the submarine will be built in the United States, specifically in shipyards in Philadelphia.

Previous South Korean administrations have expressed interest in acquiring a nuclear-powered submarine, but the United States has long opposed this, due to its concerns about nuclear proliferation.

It is noteworthy that South Korea can currently enrich uranium to a percentage of less than 20% only with America’s approval, and it is also prohibited from reprocessing used nuclear fuel.
