Our junior football team begins its journey by meeting Costa Rica in the World Cup finals in Doha

Dubai, October 30 / WAM / Our national under-17 football team will begin its campaign in the World Cup finals hosted by Doha, from 3 to 27 November, facing the Costa Rica national team on November 3, as part of the third group competitions, which also includes the Croatia and Senegal national teams.

The team’s delegation left today for the Qatari capital, Doha, to participate in the world championship, which features an elite group of promising teams at the age group level in the world, as the team seeks to provide a distinguished performance that reflects the development of Emirati football at the age group level.

The official list of our national team participating in the World Cup, which consists of 21 players according to FIFA regulations, includes: Jassim Abdullah, Mubarak Al-Buraiki, Saeed Al-Rashidi (goalkeepers), Ahmed Ekrami, Saad Mubarak, Suhail Al-Noubi, Fahd Khalil, Salem Essam (defense), Abdullah Rashid, Faisal Muhammad, Muhammad Salem, Muhammad Jamal, and Ibrahim Youssef, Abdullah Manad, Issa Al Balushi, Jayden Adiba, Abdullah Hatem (center), Mayed Adel, Ali Al Jasmi, Muhammad Al Saadi, and Mahmoud Badr (attack).
Before the delegation left, members of the Board of Directors of the UAE Football Association met with the national team players and the technical and administrative staff at the Federation’s headquarters in Dubai, where Obaid Salem Al Shamsi, Second Vice President of the Federation, conveyed the greetings of the Federation’s leadership and its wishes of success to the players in their World Cup journey.
During the meeting, Al Shamsi stressed the importance of benefiting from the experiences gained during internal and external camps and friendly matches, and making every effort to provide a performance worthy of the reputation of Emirati football, expressing his confidence in the players’ abilities and their potential to achieve positive results that will please the Emirati fans.

It is noteworthy that our junior national team had concluded its internal gathering in Dubai by playing two friendly matches against the national teams of Mali and Bolivia, which ended in a 1-1 draw, as part of its final preparations for participation in the tournament.

Our team will play its second match in the World Cup against the Croatian team on November 6, while the group stage will conclude with a match against Senegal on November 9.
