The UAE raises its tally to 6 medals in the 2025 World Paralympic Shooting Championship

Al Ain, 31 October / WAM / The UAE national team continued its brilliance in the 2025 Paralympic Shooting World Cup in Al Ain, after raising its tally to 6 medals (five gold and one silver) after winning two new gold medals today through the champions Mohammed Al Habsi and Ahmed Bu Haliba in the shotgun shooting competitions.
Mohammed Al Habsi won the first gold medal after winning first place in the SG-S (mixed) trap category shotgun competition, after defeating Martin Bartos from the Czech Republic in a penalty shootout, after they tied with 36 shots each, while Italian Rafael Talamo won third place and the bronze medal, scoring 28 shots.
As for the second gold medal, it went to Ahmed Bouhaliba, who won first place in the SG-U (mixed) trap shotgun competition for people with upper physical disabilities, after recording 42 hits, ahead of Steve Nothum from Luxembourg, who ranked second (37 hits), while Martin Tomek from the Czech Republic came third with 26 hits.
His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, accompanied by His Excellency Major General Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Weapons and Dangerous Materials Office, crowned the medal winners, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Al Kamali, Executive Director of the People of Determination Sector at the Authority and Chairman of the Supreme Committee organizing the tournament.
Among today’s results, Slovakian Filip Marinov won the gold medal in the SG-L (mixed) trap category for people with lower physical disabilities after achieving 44 hits, while Czech Miroslav Ledinski won silver with 40 hits, and his compatriot Milan Kolar won bronze with 29 hits.
In the 10-meter air rifle competition – recumbent position, SH2 (mixed), the Thai team won first place and the gold medal with a total of 1,904.4 points, ahead of the Chinese team, which won silver, with 1,901.9 points, while the American team came third with 1,893.5 points.
In the individual competition in the same category, Britain’s Ryan Cockbell won first place and the gold medal with 255.8 points, Thailand’s Anosun Chaichmanan came second with 255.2 points, while Brazilian Alexander Augusto won the bronze medal with 234 points.
