The Grand Egyptian Museum opens tomorrow in the presence of delegations from 79 countries

Cairo, 31 October / WAM / Tomorrow (Saturday) Egypt will witness the opening of the “Grand Egyptian Museum” in a major international celebration attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, with the participation of (79) official delegations from various countries of the world, including (39) delegations headed by kings, princes, heads of state and government, in an unprecedented cultural and humanitarian event that embodies Egypt’s unique status as a beacon of human civilization and a meeting place for cultures.

Ambassador Dr. Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt, stressed that the unprecedented international representation in one cultural event reflects the world’s appreciation for the ancient Egyptian civilization and Egypt’s cultural and humanitarian role throughout history.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to one civilization and contains more than one hundred thousand artifacts that embody the history of Egypt over thousands of years, including the complete collection of King Tutankhamun’s belongings, which are displayed for the first time all together in one place.

The museum is distinguished by its innovative architectural design that combines authenticity and modernity, and its unique location at the foot of the Giza Pyramids to form a cultural panorama that links the past with the present and highlights Egypt’s position as the cradle of human civilization.
