A gold medal for the UAE national team in the Asian Modern Sailing Championship

Muscat, 1st November / WAM / The UAE modern sailing team won the gold medal in the Asian Championship in the “Optimist” category, which was hosted by the Sultanate of Oman during the period from 25 to 31 last October.
The gold medal came to player Carolina Bajak, who topped the continent’s overall standings in the silver group, while her teammate Luca Hervé came in fifth place, and Khalifa Al Rumaithi came in sixth place in the gold group competitions and the overall standings of the tournament.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, President of the Emirates Modern Sailing and Rowing Federation, congratulated the team’s delegation with the distinguished participation and honorable results, praising the efforts of the administrative and technical bodies and the players in achieving this continental achievement.
For his part, Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, Secretary-General of the Federation, confirmed that this superiority in the Asian Championship reflects the success of the Federation’s strategy, headed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, which aims to enhance the UAE’s presence and raise its flag in various Gulf, Arab and international forums.
