Dubai, 1st November / WAM / The activities of the eleventh session of the “Dubai Used Boat Exhibition” were launched yesterday evening, at the Dubai Creek Marina, which will be held from October 31 to November 2 under the slogan “A Boat for Every Person”, with the participation of more than 50 brands from different parts of the world, displaying more than 50 yachts and boats with a total value exceeding 200 million dirhams.
The exhibition is expected to attract more than five thousand visitors, including investors, sea lovers, and those interested in acquiring luxury boats and yachts, as it includes offers for a variety of used boats at competitive prices and high quality, reflecting Dubai’s position as a major platform for innovation in the world of recreational navigation and a leading center for used boat trade in the region.
Reports issued by the Dubai Maritime Authority at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation showed that the number of marine vessels registered in Dubai in 2024 reached 7,738 marine vessels, an increase of 14.4% compared to 2023, while the number of marine crew members increased to 12,226, with a growth rate of 22.8%, which reflects the confidence of investors and operators in the advanced marine environment in the emirate.
Abdullah Ali Al Noon, Director of Special Projects at Dubai Golf and official of Via Marine, which organizes the exhibition, confirmed that organizing the used boat exhibition in Dubai reflects the emirate’s position as a global center for lovers of the sea and the yachting industry, noting that the exhibition has become a major event in the agenda of marine events in the region.
He said that the slogan of the current session, “A Boat for Every Person,” reflects the organizing body’s commitment to making the world of boating closer to everyone, by providing various options that suit different categories and budgets, and enhancing the concepts of financing and sustainability within the growing maritime economy system, adding that the momentum of participation reflects the confidence of companies and investors in Dubai’s pioneering role in supporting innovation and developing the leisure navigation sector.
Al-Noon explained that the size of the recreational boat market in the Middle East is expected to reach $2.95 billion by 2027, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.9%, indicating that this growth is linked to the development of marine infrastructure, the increase in the number of people with financial solvency, and the growth of marine tourism.
He added that the “Dubai Used Boat Exhibition” represents a model platform for concluding deals and attracting investments, and contributes to supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and enhancing the emirate’s position in the maritime industry. It is also consistent with the country’s trends towards a circular economy by encouraging the trading of used boats and reducing the need for new manufacturing.
On its first day, the exhibition witnessed a large turnout of visitors, confirming its position as a leading platform for sea lovers and investors in the recreational boating sector. It provides an integrated experience for those wishing to enter the world of boats for the first time, through a wide range of boats ranging in length from 20 to 100 feet, in addition to financing, insurance, maintenance and marine supplies services.
The exhibition, which is held under the auspices of DexNet, continues to receive visitors on Saturday and Sunday from three in the afternoon until nine in the evening, giving them an opportunity to explore the latest marine technologies and electric and sustainable propulsion systems, and enhancing Dubai’s position as a global center for innovation in the leisure navigation sector.
