iCAUR shines at the Riyadh Electric Vehicle Exhibition with the first regional launch of the V27 REEV SUV

The EV Auto Show marked its return to the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC) for its fourth edition from 27 to 29 October 2025, bringing together the region’s fastest-growing electric vehicle community. Among the most prominent exhibitors that attracted attention, iCAUR, the international brand of Chery Automobile, shined with the first unveiling in the Middle East of the V27 BOXY, ready for adventures equipped with Range Extended Technology (REEV).
iCAUR presented its V27 equipped with REEV technology for the first time in the Kingdom, in the presence of Vice President, Mr. Mark, Head of State, Mr. George, and Head of Brand and Marketing, Mr. Mohammed Danial Khan. Mr. Mark participated throughout the exhibition as an official spokesman, emphasizing iCAUR’s commitment to the Saudi market and the role of REEV technology in providing a long and practical driving range in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. His Excellency Sheikh Walid, Minister of Investment Funds and Chairman of the Saudi Investment Group, also visited the iCAUR pavilion, which reflects the growing interest and government support for innovative electric technologies.
iCAUR is the new energy brand affiliated with Chery, and focuses on modern SUVs targeting outdoor adventure enthusiasts, with reliance on electrical systems. Smart. Its cars are distinguished by a powerful design that combines practicality and efficiency to meet the needs of daily drivers and weekend explorers.
The V27 relies on an extended-range electric system, where the electric motors constantly move the wheels, while the 1.5-liter gasoline engine acts only as a generator to charge the battery while driving. The car can be charged at home or through public charging stations for daily electric driving, or filling the fuel tank for long trips, making it ideal for the nature of the Kingdom, which combines urban roads and long desert trips. Reports indicate that the car is available in rear- and all-wheel drive (RWD/AWD) versions, with a power of up to 335 kW (approximately 449 hp), and a pure electric range of about 200 km according to the CLTC standard. As for the total range using the battery and generator together, it usually exceeds 1,000 km according to CLTC tests, taking into account that the actual range may vary depending on the climate, speed, and vehicle load.
At the exhibition, the V27’s vertical and square design and its luxurious cabin caught the attention of visitors, who praised the long-range REEV system’s compatibility with the driving style in the Kingdom, describing the car as a "Unusual" and"Exactly what we’re looking for" and"The electric car we really need is here". The exhibition organizers and the local press also reported a record number of visitors for the 2025 edition, reflecting the growing interest in practical electric mobility and enhancing the impressive presence of the iCAUR brand. The media praised the powerful V27 design inspired by the Defender and Land Cruiser, stressing its focus on the requirements of the local market under the name iCAUR, considering that its design "Successful and suitable for SUV enthusiasts globally"
With the show highlighting the national momentum towards electric mobility, the iCAUR V27 comes at a time of growing local market interest and expanding charging infrastructure. The brand is preparing for gradual regional launches after the global unveiling last summer and fall, with launch dates, specifications and prices for the Kingdom being announced later.
The importance of REEV technology for the Kingdom:
Compared to traditional hybrid systems in which the engine directly drives the wheels, REEV technology provides a fully electric driving experience with instant torque and high smoothness, while gasoline is only used to generate electricity when needed. The result is electric vehicle performance with the flexibility for long trips, reducing range anxiety on desert trips, long family commutes, or intercity trips.
