We want a very strong partnership with America

The Syrian government reiterated that it does not seek problems with neighboring countries or Western countries. Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani explained in a speech he delivered during the Manama Dialogue Forum in Bahrain, today, Sunday, that Damascus does not want to be a center of polarization, adding that it wants a balanced relationship with all countries, and a very strong partnership with America.
He also pointed out that Syria seeks to be at the same distance from all countries, and to establish its relations on the principle of cooperation and openness. Al-Shaibani said: “We extend our hand to our allies and friends in the region in a way that benefits everyone,” according to what was reported by Al-Ikhbariya Al-Syrian.
He considered that “what Israel is doing undermines the new, unique Syrian experience,” adding, “We are trying to deal diplomatically with Israeli provocations.”
