Dubai hosts the “Women in Engineering Leadership Summit” on Wednesday

Next Wednesday, Dubai will host the “Women in Engineering Leadership Summit 2025,” affiliated with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – UAE Branch, with the participation of more than 200 members and women leaders representing more than 10 countries. The summit, which will be held over two days, aims to enhance the role of women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through professional guidance, expanding the network of relationships, developing leadership skills, and enabling cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors in a way that enhances the innovative environment and professional excellence.

An elite group of academics and executives from inside and outside the country are participating in the summit, including the President of the University of Dubai and the Honorary President of the IEEE Branch in the Emirates, Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, the President of Effat University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Haifa Jamal Al-Layl, the Vice President of the University of Dubai and the President of the IEEE Branch in the Emirates, Professor Hussein Al-Ahmad, and the President of the University of Rochester in Dubai, Dr. Yousef Al-Assaf, along with representatives from Emirates Global Aluminum and leading companies, such as Taqa and Strata. The summit is chaired by Dr. Diana Dawoud from the University of Dubai, with the participation of Dr. Maysam Wahba and Dr. Yasmine Halawani. The summit is being held with the support of local and international bodies, including the University of Dubai, Emirates Global Aluminium, the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, and the Cybersecurity Center at New York University Abu Dhabi.

The summit’s agenda focuses on interactive sessions for professional growth, research competitions, and dialogues on women’s leadership and innovation.
