The high cost of fin swimming will not limit its spread in the Emirates

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club, Hamid Al-Hooti, confirmed that fin swimming is one of the modern and exciting sports that will witness wide spread in the UAE, despite its high financial cost, explaining that the price of professional fins may reach 500 euros, equivalent to 2000 dirhams, due to their high quality and precise technical specifications.
Yesterday, in the capital, Abu Dhabi, the FinSwimming World Cup 2025 competitions were concluded, organized by the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and under the supervision of the Emirates Water Sports Federation, with the participation of more than 400 male and female players from 51 clubs and academies representing 21 countries.
Hamid Al-Hooti told Emirates Al-Youm: “Flippers swimming is one of the wonderful sports that is characterized by excitement and speed, and attracts a large group of young people and children, as it is called (Formula Swimming), and therefore we expect it to have a large fan base and practitioners in the country during the coming period, despite its high cost.”
He pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club was keen to provide fin equipment to all the club’s participating swimmers in the tournament, which contributed to achieving distinguished results represented in winning more than six colored medals, including two gold, in the club’s first official participation.
Al-Hooti explained that these results represent a strong start for the game in the Emirates, especially in light of the participation of elite world stars in the event.
