المملكة: To secure the work environment…a campaign "Mecca corrects" Closes 332 violating sites

The Municipality of the Holy Capital continues to implement its intensive field campaigns within the initiative "Mecca corrects"which aims to raise the level of compliance with municipal regulations and Work environment in workshops, warehouses, and markets, which contributes to creating a safe and organized urban environment that is consistent with the goals of sustainable development and the Saudi Vision 2030.

Monitored violations

The recent inspection tours resulted in the closure of 332 violating sites, distributed among 101 workshops and 231 warehouses, in addition to the removal of 78 mobile vehicles (food trucks) and a notice. 38 hangar, as well as implementing Inspection visits included 40 grocery stores and 50 restaurants to ensure implementation of safety and public health requirements, and compliance of activities with municipal and environmental regulations.

The secretariat confirmed that field teams are continuing their efforts to control land uses and implement the Saudi building code, noting that more than 3,200 workshops and warehouses have been identified with the aim of verifying Regularizing activities and completing licensing procedures electronically via approved digital platforms.

Improving the urban landscape

These efforts fall within a comprehensive plan to improve the urban landscape and combat commercial concealment and random practices, in a way that ensures enhancing the quality of life and providing an organized and safe work environment that supports the municipal sector and keeps pace with urban development in the Holy Capital.

The secretariat called on the owners of commercial and industrial activities to quickly correct their situations and adhere to municipal and environmental requirements, stressing the continued implementation of monitoring campaigns in accordance with A timetable covering all municipal areas in Mecca.
