An exhibition in London highlights Queen Elizabeth II’s fashion

A major exhibition of clothes and accessories belonging to the Queen will be held in London in April 2026 The late Elizabeth II, including her formal dresses, tweed jackets, and famous scarves.

Visitors to the exhibition, for which tickets are on sale starting next Tuesday, will be able to preview about two hundred exceptional pieces from the queen, who died in 2022 at the age of 96, after a record reign of 70 years.

Royal Heritage

She reported "Royal Collection Trust"the body charged with preserving the British royal heritage, announced that the pieces will be displayed in the King’s Hall inside the Palace Buckingham, explaining that about half of them are being shown to the public for the first time.

Among the exhibits are clothes created by the Queen’s fashion designer Norman Hartnell, her wedding dress, the outfit she wore during her investiture ball in 1953, and a green dress that the Queen wore during a banquet held in honor of US President Dwight Eisenhower at the British Embassy in Washington in 1957.

Unofficial pieces

presented The exhibition is billed as the largest ever exhibition dedicated to the Queen’s clothing, and also includes informal pieces, including tweed suits and riding clothing Horses, scarves and a transparent raincoat designed by Hardy Amies dating back to the 1960s.

The Queen, who was about 1.60 meters tall, was famous for wearing brightly colored clothes that she coordinated with hats of the same colour.

Exhibition curator Caroline de Guiteau said in a statement "Queen Elizabeth II’s clothes are an eloquent lesson in symbolism, the art of tailoring and the craftsmanship of British tailoring"

Fashion designers Erdem Moralioglu, Richard Quinn, and Christopher Kane will contribute to this exhibition, who were inspired by the style of Queen Elizabeth II.

Christopher Kane said that the late Queen’s clothes "It tells the story of Britain and the transformation of its national identity through fashion".
