starting "Arab-German Conference for Sciences and Humanities" November 17 in Sharjah

Sharjah, 4 November / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, the university continues its preparations to organize and host the Arab-German Conference for Sciences and Humanities during the period from 17 to 20 November, with the participation of researchers and academics from more than 40 Arab and German universities and research institutions, in cooperation with the Arab-German Academy for Young Researchers in the Sciences and Humanities (AGYA), and Khor Fakkan University, which is hosting the third day of the conference.

The conference aims to enhance Arab-German research cooperation and establish scientific partnerships in multiple fields including health sciences, medicine, innovation, technology and space, sustainable smart cities, and humanities and social sciences, with a focus on enabling young researchers to build cooperation networks and exchange scientific experiences.

Experts and university presidents from the Emirates and Germany, young researchers from Arab countries, and representatives of organizations such as UNESCO and the World Bank will participate in the event, during which prominent scientific figures from international and regional universities and institutions will speak.

The conference activities include scientific sessions and interactive workshops that discuss key issues such as water, the role of higher education in building international partnerships, innovation in space exploration, and universities’ support for sustainable development.

The conference is a platform to enhance communication, develop joint research projects, and transfer knowledge between Arab and German academic institutions.

The conference comes within the activities of the Arab-German Academy for Young Researchers (AGYA), which is based in Berlin and includes scholars from various Arab countries. The Academy has a regional office in Egypt, and an academic office will be launched at the University of Sharjah for the activities of researchers in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The conference enjoys the support and participation of universities and research institutions from inside and outside the country, such as the UAE University, Sultan Qaboos University, the University of Cambridge, the Technical University of Munich, and Cairo University.
