Riyadh.. Saudi-American discussions for cooperation in critical minerals
Hold Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef held a bilateral meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters, with the Minister of the Interior and Chairman of the US National Energy Council, Doug Burgum, and discussed opportunities to strengthen strategic partnerships between the Kingdom and the United States in the sector .
The meeting discussed joint action frameworks to activate the memorandum of cooperation concluded between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the United States Department of Energy, in the field of And mining resources, on the sidelines of the Saudi-American Investment Forum in Riyadh last May.

It discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in critical minerals and rare earth elements, stressing the importance of strengthening international cooperation to secure sustainable supply baskets for minerals, in a way that supports the energy transition in the world.
The meeting highlighted the International Mining Conference that the Kingdom hosts annually, stressing its vital role as a global platform that brings together decision makers and organizations. Non-governmental organizations, major investors, mining technology companies, and research institutions; To find innovative solutions that address the challenges of the mining and metals sector and enhance its sustainability. Riyadh will host the fifth edition of the conference during the period from January 13 to 15, 2026.
