Ambassadors of the UAE and Kuwait: Our relations are historic with continuous partnerships

The Emirati-Kuwaiti Economic Forum witnessed a dialogue session entitled “Sibling Talk: The Emirates and Kuwait,” which brought together the UAE’s ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al-Neyadi, and the Kuwaiti ambassador to the Emirates, Jamal Muhammad Al-Ghunaim.

The two ambassadors stressed that the Emirati-Kuwaiti relations are historical and well-established, enhanced by the vision of the two countries’ leaderships in depth and development, and consolidated by ongoing partnerships and close cooperation in various fields.

During the session, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the UAE, Jamal Mohammed Al-Ghunaim, touched on prominent historical milestones that established the foundations of the relationship between the two countries, and considered that the continuous communication between the leaders of the two countries contributed to establishing an integrated network of communication at the leadership level, in addition to strengthening ties at the popular level.

The Kuwaiti ambassador to the UAE recalled the Emir of Kuwait’s advice to him when he was assigned his duties, saying: “Jamal, consider the sheikhs of the Emirates to be your sheikhs, for we and the Emirates are one heart and in one boat.” Al-Ghunaim pointed out that the UAE has become a major destination for Kuwaitis in the fields of treatment and education, thanks to the advanced health and educational institutions it provides that are comparable to their counterparts that Kuwaitis previously visited in the United States and Europe.

For his part, the UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al-Neyadi, said that “upon his arrival to take up his position, he felt as if he were among his family and those of his relatives,” recalling the words of Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister at the time: “O Abu Abdullah, you only moved from one neighborhood to another. You are among your family, and you will find all support and cooperation from us.”

He continued: “Today, during this week preceding the National Day celebrations in Kuwait, we see the UAE sharing the joy of its brothers in Kuwait, based on a firm belief in the unity of purpose and common destiny.”
