Adopting “new mechanisms for managing psychological crises” in schools was the most prominent focus of the recommendations of the “Mental Health,” which concluded its activities in Dammam.
The forum, which was organized by “Education of the East” Under the slogan “Healthy Beginnings for a Promising Future,” the need to provide male and female educational mentors with advanced early detection skills, and quick and effective intervention tools, to manage the psychological and behavioral challenges associated with the different stages of development of students, ensuring the achievement of a safe and stimulating educational environment.
The Director General of Education stressed In the Eastern Province, Dr. Munira Al-Mahashir, said that male and female educational mentors represent a fundamental pillar in achieving the nation’s vision, describing them as “the voice of wisdom and reassurance” in the school environment.
Vital Role
Al-Mahashir stressed that their vital role goes beyond traditional guidance to real “making an impact,” and accompanying the student on his journey toward self-understanding and appreciation.
This came during Her speech at the “Mental Health” Forum, organized by the Student Guidance Department in Dammam under the slogan “Healthy Beginnings for a Promising Future,” in the presence of a crowd of educational mentors from various cities and governorates of the region.
Al-Mahashir linked these efforts to the goals of Vision 2030, explaining that the vision paid great attention to humans, as they are the focus and goal of development, and that improving the quality of life and enhancing mental health represents a strategic goal to enable humans to live their lives with confidence. Society renaissance
She added that mental health is not just a title, but rather it is the solid foundation for the renaissance of society, and a major component in forming confident generations capable of thinking, creativity and achievement.
She called on the mentors to continue supporting the students so that they have a light to rely on in moments of challenge, stressing that their efforts “build a human being, and every one of them builds a nation.”

The forum aimed to achieve a set of strategic objectives, focused on enhancing psychological safety in the educational environment, providing mentors with advanced skills for early detection of crises, and providing them with crisis management mechanisms related to the different stages of development of students.

The activities of the forum highlighted the extreme importance of the mental health of children and adolescents, and the necessity of early intervention, highlighting the pivotal role of social and family development in providing the necessary protection for the child.
The forum witnessed the presentation of several specialized working papers; Dr. Muhammad Al-Zahrani discussed ways to achieve psychological safety, and Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Shamrani discussed crisis management in the stages of development.
Dr. Noha Al-Shammari presented early detection skills, while Dr. Noura Bu Khamseen focused on the mental health of children and adolescents, and Mamdouh Al-Zikr Allah concluded the sessions by highlighting the role of the family in early intervention.

On the sidelines of the events, Dr. Al-Mahashir viewed the pavilions of the accompanying exhibition, Which witnessed wide participation from departments of the Education Department, along with strategic partners from the health and community sectors, such as Irada Hospital, King Fahd Military Medical Complex, University Hospital in Khobar, and the Family Development Association.
At the conclusion of the forum, the Director General of Education honored the participating parties, appreciating the value of effective community partnerships.
