"Emirati publishers": "Sharjah Book" It places the Emirati publisher at the heart of the international forum
Sharjah, 5 November / WAM / Writer Amira Boukadra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Publishers Association, confirmed that the Sharjah International Book Fair constitutes a global platform that places the Emirati publisher at the heart of the international publishing forum and opens up horizons for cooperation and knowledge and cultural exchange with international actors in the sector, praising the efforts of the Sharjah Book Authority and its optimal organization of this event that brings together publishers and creators from all over the world.
She said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the association’s participation in the 44th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair reflects its commitment to empowering and organizing the local publishing sector and establishing an integrated support system for publishers in accordance with the vision and directives of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the founder and honorary president of the association, and the directives of the UAE.
She explained that the association seeks, through its participation in the exhibition, to build new partnerships at the local and international levels to promote creative industries based on its vision of supporting the local publishing sector and enhancing the presence of the Emirati publisher on the regional and global cultural scene, noting that the exhibition provides an ideal space for interaction between Emirati publishers and their international counterparts to exchange experiences and showcase the distinguished Emirati experiences in the book industry.
She stressed that each session of the Sharjah International Book Fair represents a new opportunity to evaluate achievements, build on what has been achieved, and continue the march towards consolidating the UAE’s position as a regional center for publishing and knowledge.
