Afaq Theater Festival will present the theatrical show “Not a King,” the day after tomorrow, Friday, as part of the activities of its eleventh session, which bears the name of the distinguished artist Abdel-Warith Asar, and under the honorary presidency of the distinguished artist Muhammad Sobhi.
The trainees will participate on the second day in the playwriting workshop by critic Fadi Nashaat and a master class by director Manar. Zain.
It was decided to present the theatrical show “Not a King” At one o’clock the day after tomorrow, Friday, by the Kalos Theater Troupe, at the Afaq Theater.
And the theatrical show "Checkmate" Written and directed by Tamer Fouad, and at five in the evening, critic Fadi Nashat presents the second day of the playwriting course, “How to Build and Write an Idea.” At seven in the evening, director Manar Zein, Master Class, presents Beyond the Text: Establishing the Directorial Vision in Contemporary Theater, with the main goal of enabling novice directors to establish a contemporary directorial vision that stems from their understanding of the text, the actor, and the audience, and the use of modern techniques that create a live and interactive communication with the recipient.
The Afaq Theater Festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, and with the support of the Cultural Production Affairs Sector, headed by director Hisham Atwa, the honorary president of the artist. The esteemed Mohamed Sobhi, the Secretary General of the Festival and the Director Hisham Al-Sunbati Foundation, the Executive Director Sally Suleiman, the artistic director of the festival, director Ayman Ghaly, the director Yasser Abu Al-Enein, the media coordinator, poet Ahmed Zidan, and the director of external relations, the Libyan artist Khadouja Sabry.
